Par Fritz Korner (Vienne, 1892 – Munich, 1970), scénariste, metteur en scène et surtout acteur, connu pour ses rôles dansLes Mains d'Orlac(Robert Wiene),Le Navire des hommes perdus(Maurice Tourneur),Loulou(G. W. Pabst),Quelque part dans la nuit(Joseph L. Mankiewicz).

Kortner, qui avait lui-même interprété le rôle du compositeur allemand dans un film de Hans Otto (1927), n'avait pas mené ce projet à son terme et le film n'a jamais été produit.
